Host Clubs

There are 235 golf clubs in South Australia – 23 of them are within the metropolitan area of Adelaide and within 20 minutes of the heart of the city. Tournament organizers have invited a number of the best and most centrally located clubs to host the tournament rounds.

The host clubs are all very enthusiastic about welcoming and hosting teams from all parts of the world. Many of the clubs have close associations with local high schools and are very conscious of the need to offer young people the chance to enjoy the game on well maintained and groomed championship courses.

The organisers have confirmed the four local clubs who will host the tournament rounds.

Adelaide Shores Golf Park is part of the Adelaide Shores Resort at West Beach which is situated 10km west of the city centre. It was voted one of the best public courses in South Australia because of its championship links style layout. The mature trees and many water hazards present a real challenge to even the most competent golfers. With large undulating greens (the average green size is 750 square metres) surrounded by numerous bunkers, Adelaide Shores Golf Park will certainly provide some great golfing moments. It is Par 72 and 6029m in length.

Riverside Golf Club is situated on the sandbelt at West Lakes 15km west of the city centre. The course is generally flat, with well bunkered, narrow couch fairways and very good bent grass greens. It is Par 70 and 5508m in length.

City of Adelaide Golf Links (South Course) is a public course set in the picturesque North Parklands only 2km from the city centre. It is said to be one of the most magnificent golfing settings in Australia. Home to the annual Lord Mayor’s Golf Trophy, the course has also hosted PGA pro am tour events. At almost 6000 metres the high quality greens and sculptured fairways are tailored towards the more experienced golfer who enjoys a challenge. It is Par 71 and 5880m in length.

Flagstaff Hill Golf Club is set in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, 25km from the city centre. It is a beautiful tree-studded course for players of all levels. The course has an undulating to hilly layout on fully watered pure couch fairways with poa and bent green grass greens.  The course is strategically bunkered, with water in play on several holes. The seventh hole is not for the faint-hearted – a par 3 of 160m, with a water carry of up to 130m to a well guarded green. It is Par 72 and  6066m in length.
